Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board
The Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline board (AADB) has been operational since 2004 and is the independent disciplinary body for accountants, accountancy firms and actuaries in the UK. The AADB is responsible for operating and administering an independent disciplinary scheme (the Accountancy Scheme) covering members of the following professional bodies:
- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
- The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
The AADB can require the professional bodies to provide it with documents when required. If any accountant or accountancy firm fails to present this information it would potentially lead to disciplinary proceedings.
