The Yorkshire Law Banquet 2015
The Yorkshire Law Banquet took place on the 6th February 2015 and was hosted by the Sheffield and District's President, Steven Dawson.
As is tradition, the banquet was held at Cutlers Hall in Sheffield and was attended by almost 300 guests. Guests on the evening, included prominent figures within South Yorkshire such as the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, the Mayor of Barnsley, the Master Cutler and Judges who sit in Sheffield.
Two solicitors from Cartwright King were asked to sit on the Top Table this year. Those solicitors were Rachel Baldwin who is currently the Vice President of the Sheffield & District Law Society and Fran Lavender who is the Social Secretary for the Society.
As usual the evening was thoroughly enjoyable. Guests enjoyed a five course meal followed by speeches from the President Mr Dawson and the High Sheriff of South Yorkshire who gave a very entertaining speech.
The Society's chosen charities this year were Barnsley Independent Alzheimer's and Dementia Support and Roundabout. A fundraising raffle took place which raised money for each charity.
The evening concluded with live music from Highway Child which rounded off a superb evening.
Here's to the 140th Annual Dinner which will take place next year on the 12th February 2016!
