Mark Lake is a qualified solicitor with 28 years legal practice experience.
Mark is a specialist in professional discipline and is recognised for his expertise in police practice. This includes criminal and disciplinary matters, including serious corruption such as the re-investigation of Operation Russia, the most high profile Metropolitan Police corruption in modern times, where the 2 officers were acquitted on a re-trial.
Mark has significant experience of representing police officers from the Metropolitan Police Force and also other regional areas.
He also advises in the specialist and complex area of K5 pension forfeiture cases following a duty related criminal conviction. He is highly regarded by institutional clients for his work in this area and is currently advising Operation Elveden officers. He has conducted 11 successful crown court appeals.
Mark advises institutional clients on all aspects of the police ill-health and injury pension awards ranging from general advice through to representation on statutory appeals, and to judicial review. Mark has successfully judicially reviewed four separate cases, and also one case to the Court of Appeal. Mark is a panel solicitor for the Police Federation of England and Wales for such cases.
