Matthew Aldwinckle is a senior solicitor specialising in Prison Law and Regulatory Law, who joined Cartwright King in January 2015.
After qualifying in 2002, Mathew’s initial specialisation was in Civil law before making the transition into criminal defence work. Matthew has over 10 years experience in Criminal Law and Prison Law. Matthew deals with clients who are either currently in prison or due to be released from a custodial sentence. From parole/early release/home detention curfews to recall appeals, from transfers to recategorisation Matthew and the rest of the Prison Law team are dedicated to give expert advice and assistance.
Matthew wanted to expand his already substantive knowledge in criminal defence work, encouraging his decision to join Cartwright King, to be part of an ever-growing law firm. Matthew has represented high profile clients, including lifer parole applications, adjudications and judicial reviews. Matthew has supervisor status with the Legal Services Commission and is Institute of Prison Law qualified.
Regulatory Law: Matthew is a key member of the Regulatory Law team focusing on defending businesses and people in business from regulatory investigations and prosecutions by organisations like the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Environment Agency, Local Authorities’ Trading Standards and Environmental Health departments and many more.
Matthew is also an active member of the Bedfordshire Law Society.
