Priscilla Moothien is a Chartered Legal Executive and forms part of the Mental Health Team.

Priscilla advises clients on all aspects of mental health law including restricted and civil sections of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended). Priscilla specialises in representing clients detained under the forensic sections of the Mental Health Act.

Where a patient lacks capacity, Priscilla will be appointed by the Tribunal Service under Rule 11 of the Tribunal Procedure Rules 2008.  She also has experience in appealing First Tier Tribunal decisions.

Priscilla also assists with Education Law matters including assisting parents, carers and students with a range of issues. These include school admissions appeals, school exclusion appeals, university complaints and special educational needs. 

Priscilla is a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Accreditation Scheme and is an associate member of the Solicitors for the Elderly.
