National Conveyancing Week 2023 has been launched with the goal to raise the profile of organisations conducting property transactions. The event runs from Monday 20th March to Friday 24th March.

Conveyancing solicitors across the UK are taking part in a series of events over this week to educate those involved in property transactions about the complex role of a conveyancing solicitor in guiding people through moving home.

Founder of National Conveyancing Week Rob Hailstone says:

“Home buying and selling is one of the most important events that takes place in the lives of nearly everyone at some point in time.  It can be time consuming and difficult to understand for many. National Conveyancing Week aims to help de-mystify the many strands that make up the process, not just for the general public but also for the numerous stakeholders involved in it.”

Busy Times for Conveyancing Solicitors

Since 2020 the housing market has skyrocketed as record numbers of people are choosing to move home. Many factors such as the cost-of-living crisis and new remote working have changed historical buying patterns.

The increased demand has not only driven house prices but has led to a large level of demand for conveyancing solicitor services.

The National Conveyancing Week Committee states: “The job now is far more challenging than it was, and despite advances in technology, in some quarters there is still a reluctance to adopt and adapt and create efficiencies to enable productivity and streamline workflow. Something needs to change.”

The Importance of Hiring a Solicitor for Your Property Transaction

If you’re planning to buy or sell a property, an expert conveyancing solicitor will guide you through the process. A conveyancing solicitor can help with:

Legal Expertise

Buying and selling a property can be a daunting task and a significant financial transaction. Therefore, it’s vital to ensure that everything has been carried out correctly to avoid any future legal issues. A conveyancing solicitor has the know-how to make sure all aspects of the transaction comply with the relevant laws and regulations.

Peace of Mind

Having a conveyancing solicitor by your side through your transaction can help the process from becoming too stressful. Your solicitor can help make sure everything is taken care of in the right manner. Additionally, your conveyancing solicitor will be on hand to answer any questions that you have, guiding you through the process.

Professional Support

A conveyancing solicitor can provide you with professional support from checking contracts to arranging surveys and searches. They can also help you to negotiate any issues that may arise during the transaction, making sure that you get the best outcome possible.

Timely Completion

When completing a property transaction, it’s important to try to get everything completed within a set time frame to avoid delays and complications. Transactions can often be a lengthy process, but a conveyancing solicitor will help to ensure all the steps are completed and you’re ready to exchange on the desired date.

Legal Protection

A conveyancing solicitor helps ensure all necessary checks are carried out, and that any potential issues are identified and addressed. Additionally, a conveyancing solicitor will make sure all necessary documentation is completed correctly, reducing the risk of future legal disputes.
