An update on our Trainee Solicitors

Our Trainee Solicitors are now progressing into the second seat of their training contracts at Cartwright King. Before they all started on their second seats we gathered their thoughts on their experiences from the first six months of their journey with our firm.

Arpanpreet Bedi

Arpanpreet spent her first six months with the Immigration team and will now be moving to the Birmingham Family team.

“I really enjoyed my first seat in Immigration where I was able to assist on various types of applications including entry clearance, leave to remain and naturalisation applications. I received a lot of support from my team and found them to be friendly, supportive and welcoming.”

Holly Setchfield

Holly spent her first six months with our Family team and is now moving to her second seat with the Nottingham Crime team.

“I have really enjoyed my time in the Family department the whole team are really encouraging and friendly, and taking part in my first hearing was a great experience. I’ve had lots of exposure to the court system and varied cases. It’s been a great opportunity to work with the clients and build relationships and help our clients.”

Ibnul Mian

Ibnul moves from the Fraud department to spend his second seat working with our Immigration team in Birmingham.

“My first seat has gone exceptionally well; it’s been a highly enjoyable and productive 6 months in the Fraud Department. The team were very welcoming and supportive throughout. John Allchin as a supervisor provided consistently useful and interesting training experiences.”

Jakiran Hayre

Jakiran Hayre spent her first seat in the Regulatory team and will now spend her second seat with our Care team in Bedford.

“I cannot believe how fast the first 6 months have gone but nevertheless I have thoroughly enjoyed working in this busy and thriving department. I was very lucky to dive straight into a police misconduct case at the very beginning. Since then I have gained wide exposure to the variety of cases that this department handles, from health and safety prosecutions to firearms appeals and environmental matters. I am very grateful for the work I have been given, it’s been very challenging and certainly kept me on my toes! My confidence in my abilities has grown and I am very much looking forward to continuing my training and development in my next seat”

Shannon Mould

Shannon will be moving from our Crime team into the Nottingham Family team for her second seat.

“I have really enjoyed my first seat in Crime. I have been able to experience every area including prison and police stations visits. I have a greater appreciation for the team and how hard they work. The passion they have for what they do is evident. I think it is a great experience for every trainee as the work and clients are different to the civil areas we have.”

Stephanie Dean

Stephanie spent her first seat in the Family team and will now join the Sheffield Care team for her second seat.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 6 months within the Family team. With the help and support of the team I have grown in confidence and I have also had the opportunity to attend numerous interesting hearings. I have learnt a lot and I am excited to continue this within my second seat.”
