Cartwright King confirm position as leading national law firm

Cartwright King’s position as a leading national law firm has been confirmed by its ranking in, The Legal 500, 2020 edition, published last week.

The firm was ranked in the prestigious first tier for firms specialising in fraud in the West Midlands, East Midlands and North-West. It was also ranked for fraud in Yorkshire & Humber and for white-collar fraud in London.

For general crime, the firm ranked in the first tier in Yorkshire & Humber and was also ranked in the East Midlands, North-West and London.

The UK’s leading law guide stated, “Cartwright King is ‘fantastic’ on serious fraud cases. It regularly defends investigations and prosecutions bought by the SFO, NCA, HMRC, the FCA and the Department of Business Innovation and Skills.”

Online and cyber crime was named as a key area of expertise and director, Michael Balmer, who heads the team was named as a Next Generation Partner.

The Legal 500 also recognised Sundeep Soor and Richard Cornthwaite as Leading Individuals and John Allchin, Steve Kirby and Andrea Prescott as Rising Stars.

Director Gemma Redfern was recommended for her confiscation and restraint work whilst solicitor Miqdad Marzook was also rated for his substantial experience in complex fraud and regulatory cases.

Criminal Solicitor, Michael Herford, was mentioned as “a truly excellent solicitor, charismatic, energetic and engaging.”
