International Women’s Day 2024

International Women's Day 2024
Updated: In: Press Release

At Cartwright King, we are proud to champion inclusivity and support Women’s Aid across all our regions, recognising the invaluable contributions of women and allies in our professional journeys. For International Women’s Day 2024, the theme is “Inspiring Inclusion”. We are reminded of the power of diversity and the need to provide equal opportunities for all.

Our commitment to creating opportunities, uplifting others, and promoting equality within the legal sector is integral to driving positive change in our society. However, we acknowledge that broader societal challenges continue to slow progress towards gender equality. Until these systemic issues are addressed, women will face persistent barriers in achieving their full potential.

International Women’s Day 2024 serves as a reminder of our responsibility to promote inclusivity and diversity not only within our firm but also in the wider community. At Cartwright King, we understand that true inclusivity means embracing the unique backgrounds and experiences of every individual, regardless of socioeconomic status, age, sexuality, disability, gender, ethnicity, or religion.

We believe that when individuals are valued, included, and empowered, they contribute significantly to economic growth and societal advancement. By inspiring others to embrace inclusion, we strive to create a better world for future generations.

Cartwright King Championing Women’s Aid Across All Regions

On Friday 8th March 2024, our Child Care solicitor Rebecca Maclean, attended the Peterborough Women’s Aid’s celebration for International Women’s Day. She states:

“I have had a very enjoyable and inspiring morning spent with women who attended the Peterborough Women’s Aid celebration for International Women’s day.

The event was welcoming to all ages and women from different backgrounds, all who came together for a common purpose to celebrate women on the special day.

I was impressed by Mandy the CEO and team who has created a warm and welcoming space for the women who live in and around the city of Peterborough.

It was a joyful event where I enjoyed sharing stories and taking part in the activities and the cake was delicious.

You can see that Mandy and her team are dynamic and are passionate in all that they do for women and their community.

I met women at the beginning of their journey, and those who were choosing to give back because of the amazing support and kindness that they had received from Mandy and her team.

You can see that they connect with people and aim to support them at the most difficult time, bringing them back to some stability and allowing them to reach their full potential.

I was particularly impressed by their accommodation, which is welcoming, clean and warm. I am very impressed with the specific projects for Lithuanian and South Asian women that are unique to the Eastern Region

I had an amazing time and I thoroughly enjoyed the event.”
