Child Care Solicitors (North West)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Solicitors to join our North West Child Care department. The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal advice and services across legally aided public and private law matters, including adoption and special guardianship orders.
This role suits a motivated individual confident in their own advocacy and passionate about delivering exceptional client care. You will manage a varied and demanding caseload, contributing to the department’s continued success and reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle a full caseload of legally aided public and private law matters, including adoption and special guardianship orders.
• Conduct advocacy in court where appropriate.
• Actively manage and develop client relationships, ensuring regular and effective communication.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Children and Adoption Law and relevant legislation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the department to deliver outstanding client service.
• Complete forms, letters, and applications promptly and accurately.
• Undertake legal research and prepare relevant documentation.
• Contribute to achieving departmental and firm-wide business plan targets.
• Act as a professional ambassador for Cartwright King.
Person Specification / Requirement
Essential:
• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales).
• Minimum 2 years PQE.
• Advocacy experience and familiarity with family law court procedures.
• Strong client care and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume and varied workload.
• Team player with excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to develop new work streams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Commitment to teamwork and professional excellence.
Desirable:
• Children Law Accreditation (SRA).
• Experience working to and achieving performance targets.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues or assist with departmental development.
