In-house counsel recruited To Cartwright King
Sheffield’s leading specialist criminal law firm Cartwright King has appointed Brian Russell, a barrister specialising in complex criminal cases.
Brian has relocated to Sheffield from County Durham and joins Cartwright King from a firm of solicitors in Middlesborough where he was their senior in-house Counsel.
Having obtained his degree at Nottingham University and then followed this with the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School, Brian undertook his pupillage at Chambers in Newcastle before joining Durham Chambers where he spent 7 years as a barrister. Prior to qualifying he was an officer in the British Army for 8 years.
Brian is an external examiner for the Bar Standards Board and is responsible for overseeing the teaching of criminal law at the BPP Law School in London and Leeds as well as a police station representative and Magistrates’ Court duty solicitor.
