Cartwright King Solicitor Paul Szabo has been named as Fee Earner of the Year at the inaugural Sheffield and District Law Society Awards.
Paul has been a Solicitor at Cartwright King for five years and has been a specialist in Child Protection Litigation for 15 years.
Regularly instructed to represent children within care proceedings by court appointed Children’s Guardians, Paul also has experience representing parents, grandparents, extended family and interveners within proceedings. Appearing regularly in County Courts, Magistrates Courts, and High Courts in South Yorkshire, Paul has particular specialism in cases involving non-accidental injury, substance misuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
These areas, although harrowing, give Paul a real sense of purpose when taking on cases and fuel his desire to see children kept in a safe, healthy environment.
Winning the Fee Earner of the Year award has allowed Paul to celebrate his success in what can be a very emotional area of law.
Paul said of his win: ‘I am absolutely delighted to have been named Fee Earner of the Year in the inaugural Sheffield & District Law Society Awards. It is a genuine honour and I couldn't be happier or more appreciative of such prestigious recognition.
I am very fortunate to work within a superb child protection team and to have such a strong law firm behind me.’
As well as working at Cartwright King, Paul has undertaken a variety of roles working with children and young people alongside his career, including being the Chairman of the Reparations Panel for young offenders in Rotherham, working with under privileged inner city children in New York, and being involved in a Sheffield based group for children and young people who are in long term foster care.
