Charlotte Farrier


Criminal Defence

Charlotte Farrier specialises in criminal law and is dedicated to representing clients on a wide range of serious criminal matters, including murder, people trafficking, sex offences, firearms, fraud and large drug conspiracies.

She handles all aspects of criminal law from the police station through to the conduct of cases in the Crown Court and has experience dealing with youth defendants at the police station and in court.

Charlotte has always been passionate about criminal law having undertaken paralegal work at Wannops LLP whilst she was studying law at university.

Following the completion of her degree, she was employed as a Paralegal at Bhatia Best Solicitors before commencing a training contract. It was here she began representing clients at the police station and assisting in preparing cases for both the Magistrates Court and Crown Court.

Charlotte joined Cartwright King in March 2019 where she completed the remainder of her training contract and became a qualified solicitor in December 2019 and Duty qualified in February 2021.

She now represents her own clients and duty clients at the police station and in court and litigates on a number of Crown Court matters.


Charlotte joined Cartwright King's criminal defence team in 2019.

Notable cases


Successfully made representations to the CPS for the matter to be referred back to the police station for caution for a client charged with Theft from a Person.

R v S

Acquittal for client charged with possession of a bladed article raising a statutory defence

R v  D

It was alleged that the client had been committing public order offences on a train from Nottingham to Skegness. Successfully acquitted after trial.

R v L

The youth client was acquitted after a youth court trial for possession of a bladed article.
