About Cheryl
Cheryl is a Legal Assistant in the care team, working alongside Matthew Cannan.
She began her career as a legal secretary straight from school and studied for her qualifications in the evenings. She later took time out to raise her three children, working as a lunchtime supervisor at their local school while they were young. Once they were older she completed a Legal Secretary course at college and returned to law, joining a practice specialising in children law where she spent twelve years. She then moved to another children's firm to work with Matthew Cannan, and the two joined Cartwright King together.
Cheryl is often the first point of contact for clients in care proceedings. She keeps cases moving between hearings and makes sure clients know what is happening and when. Years of working in children law mean she understands how difficult proceedings are for the families involved.
Outside work, Cheryl enjoys walking and spending time with her family.
