More about Chet

The spark to enter into the legal profession was created when I was at school as I enjoyed debating. This led me to undertake A levels in Law and Politics. I read Politics at University but always intended to go into a career in law and I have been lucky enough to be able to pursue that ever since.

The role I have is very varied and no two days are the same. I can be meeting clients in the morning and then dealing with a contested hearing in the afternoon. Equally, as I am on the Law Society Children Panel, I can be representing a child in the morning and a parent in the afternoon . It is this variety that excites me the most. I also enjoy the management of the Leicester Care team which enables me to drive change and  play an active part in developing the team.

I represent children, parents, grandparents and interveners.  I have represented clients in the High Court, County Court and Magistrates Courts. I generally undertake my own advocacy.

I ensure that clients receive professional , friendly  and straightforward advice to achieve the best possible outcome. I have 22 years experience and so my clients are assured of sound legal advice. This is backed up by a solid team who take pride in providing a holistic service to clients.

My approach to such cases is to ensure clients are treated sympathetically and feel at ease, with the use of jargon free and straightforward advice. I ensure that clients are engaged throughout the life of a case and that they receive a professional and friendly service throughout from the whole of the team.

I am proud of how I have grown and developed the Care team and Child protection work at Leicester since I started about 7 years ago. I am also proud to be an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel which is a mark of quality for all those who have successfully managed to pass the qualifying test. Finally, I am also proud of having completed a Masters in Law at a time when I was working full time too.
