Kayleigh's Specialisms

More about Kayleigh

I have been a qualified solicitor for 3 years however I have been working within care proceedings for 5 years. I have been interested in pursuing a career in law since first taking part in “Mock Trials” whilst at school. I continued this interest by studying law at A-Level and at university. I am passionate about working with my clients at what may be a very difficult time for them and to obtain the best possible outcome for them.

I represent clients involved in Care and Supervision Order proceedings, the pre-proceedings process and children’s services involvement. I represent parents, wider family members and other parties known as interveners within care proceedings. I have represented parties in cases involved non-accidental injuries and fabricated or induced illnesses. I represent clients with learning difficulties or mental health concerns. I have been involved in cases before differing levels of the judiciary up to and including the High Court.

I have also worked in private family law, representing clients in applications for child arrangements orders, prohibited steps order, specific issue orders, special guardianship orders and applications to prevent domestic abuse. This knowledge assists when representing clients within Care Proceedings when there are cross-over issues such as Grandparents wishing to care for their Grandchildren or where a social worker has become involved due to a child being exposed to domestic abuse.

During my spare time I am a Leader with the Girl Guiding organisation, which involves running activities for girls aged 10 – 14 years old. I also have 2 pet rabbits called Nickel and Darth who also take up much of my time due to the mess that they create.

A testament to your hard work!

I should also add that this is a testament to your very hard work Kayleigh, well done! It's a welcome reminder of why we do this job and that people do need us to advocate on their behalf. You do inspire me!
