Leigh Green has specialised in Child Protection litigation for over 15 years and holds the Law Society Accreditation as a Children Panel member. She was described in as being “thorough and able”, (2014) and “hardworking” (2015) in The Legal 500 and was recognised as “an associate to watch” in Chambers & Partners in both 2015/16 and 2016/17).
Leigh has specialised in Child Protection litigation for over 15 years and throughout that time has been an invaluable source of support to children young people, families, professionals and the legal community within the South Yorkshire area.
Her Law Society Accreditation as a Children Panel member over the last decade has allowed her to hone her skills enabling her to deliver precise, meticulous and well articulated advice and representation. Known for her keen eye for detail and her thoroughness in preparation, along with her ability to quickly identify and bring into clear focus the salient issues, Leigh is regularly instructed on cases which require a sharp, analytical mind combined with compassion, care and empathy for those whom she represents.
One of Leigh’s primary strengths is her ability to carefully balance the evidential requirements of a case, cutting through the unnecessary padding and getting right to the crux of the matter, making the most complicated issues accessible to those she represents; she is also one who immediately bonds with her clients, especially teenagers who are often subject to a variety of vulnerabilities, ranging from mental health issues to those at risk of sexual exploitation. Leigh’s patient approach and commitment to building up a solid working relationship with all of her clients makes her not only dependable, but also a solicitor who is regularly subject to repeat instructions.
However, her compassion and her friendly and personable approach does not detract from her determined position to deliver the best possible outcome for her clients through robust advocacy across all courts in the South Yorkshire area, something which is particularly welcomed by the teenagers and young adults that she is so regularly instructed to act for. Whilst keen to provide fair, pragmatic and balanced solutions, Leigh is one who will stand firm in the face of opposition and is not afraid to make her client’s position abundantly clear, both in court and in her excellent written documentation.
Her dedication and commitment to the protection of children and the voice of the parents or family being heard extends beyond her representation of parties within the Courts and lends itself to the furthering of working practices and knowledge for the benefit of the legal community as a whole.
Leigh is the Chair of South Yorkshire Family Court Forum, as well as a committee member of the Local Family Justice Board and sits on the Public Law Sub-Committee and Private Law Sub-Committee. A strong advocate for access to justice and supporter of Legal Aid, Leigh has participated in events to not only raise funds, but also to raise the profile of Access to Justice.
Leigh is a rare find; a solicitor whose technical skills and knowledge are outranked only by her warm and compassionate nature.
