Nicola's Specialisms

More about Nicola

I was drawn to the law due to the variety that the profession brings and the tactical and intellectual competitiveness of the work involved. I very much enjoy the intellectual challenge that each case brings. The fact that each day is always very different and that in many ways I help people get through very stressful and challenging times is very rewarding.

I am very proud of my successes in the Court of Appeal. Conducting cases in the most famous and prestigious court in the country is very exciting and makes me very proud. I’m also proud to be awarded a “red bag” by Louise Sweet QC in July 2019 for my outstanding contribution as Junior Counsel in a murder trial at Derby Crown Court. It was definitely a career highlight for me.

In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis and reading books. I’m a member of a book club, and I also enjoy walking which usually ends up in a pub with a glass of red wine.
