Sabina Kauser has practiced immigration law for the last 18 years and represents foreign nationals or their UK partners in assisting them to resettle in the UK through family, work of education or protection channels.
I have practiced immigration law for the last 18 years and have been a qualified Solicitor since 2005. I have always wanted to be a lawyer since I was very young, namely influenced at that time by Court room dramas and movies!
I front load my cases to ensure that all aspects of an applications are prepared to a high level from the outset. I like to build a strong rapport with my clients so that we can have an open dialogue and ensure that we work together confidently.
I namely represent foreign nationals or their UK partners in assisting them to resettle in the UK through family, work of education or protection channels.
My greatest achievement I believe was representing a lady with a probationary spouse visa, who was tricked by her then spouse into returning to her home country with her two young children. Their passports were destroyed and they were left without support or accommodation. The case was bought to me by a charity worker, which I proceeded with on a pro-bono basis and assisted the lady to successfully enter the UK with her two children. There is an amazing sense of satisfaction in working in a area of law where every application paves the foundations of the clients future.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking and I love watching crime based movies and dramas. I also like to socialise with my friends and family. I take a keen interest in the Education system and I am a Director of a Multi Academy Trust that sponsors 5 primary schools in the West Midlands. I am also the chairperson of a Local Governing Body and sit on Disciplinary Hearing panels for Schools within the Birmingham City Council catchment area.
Client’s husband and step son’s spouse and child appeals had been allowed by the Tribunal but there was no contact from the Home Office, for over 10 months, to actually issue the visas. Within a couple of weeks of being instructed I managed to establish the problem, get in contact with the correct departments and got the visa’s issued to the clients who then managed to enter the UK in time for the New Year.
Obtained a refugee settlement visa for my client that had been refused asylum for herself and 3 children and all appeal rights had been exhausted. I prepared a fresh asylum claim, which was subsequently allowed, following on from which I was able to secure settlement for them as refugees.
Client was issued with removal directions and no right of appeal against the refusal of his application. He was due to be removed from the UK without his wife and children who had their own applications pending in the UK. I prepared an application for a Judicial review, following which the Home office consented to re-consider my client’s case and then granted him Leave to remain.
