About Sona

Sona is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Childcare department.

With over 15 years of experience since qualifying in 2008, Sona brings a wealth of knowledge to family and childcare matters. Her dedication to client service extends beyond family law, as she previously represented clients detained under the Mental Health Act and served as an accredited police station representative. This diverse background equips her to provide exceptional support and understanding to all clients.

Since 2011, Sona chose to specialise in Care Proceedings and is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel. 

Sona handles a variety of cases and has been involved in complex and high profile cases alleging neglect, alcohol and substance misuse, non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, emotional harm and deprivation of liberty. Sona is also highly experienced in representing vulnerable clients with difficulties. She is a caring advocate with expertise to robustly put forward her client’s case.

Sona has full conduct of her cases and confidently represents parents, children, grandparents and family members. Sona is a calm but strong advocate and is committed to achieving the best outcome.

Sona has ample experience in attending hearings at all levels. She regularly represents clients at contested removal hearings, interim hearings, fact finding hearings, and final hearings and is dedicated to ensuring clients are prepared and supported throughout the court proceedings.

Alongside her passion for law, Sona enjoys spending time with her children and family.
