Tim Lumb

Tim Lumb has been a solicitor for over 30 years. He has been representing patients in Mental Health Tribunals for the last 10 years.

In the 2024 edition of Chambers and Partners, Tim was named as a ‘key contact for clients’ and a ‘notable practitioner,' for UK-wide Health and Welfare.

I often assist clients through what can often be a daunting and upsetting procedure as they pursue their freedom from detention. It’s what encouraged me in to a career in law, a desire to help those unable to defend or represent themselves effectively against the state system.

What excites me about my role is being able to sometimes pick holes in a hospital teams approach and persuade an independent tribunal that my client’s liberty is justified and their detention unnecessary.

In my spare time I like watching Grimsby Town Football Club occasionally win! Then eat the best fish and chips in Cleethorpes. Go on holiday usually to Scotland or Tuscany. I just love driving on Italian roads!
