Our Family Law Services
All of our specialist family solicitors in Leeds are qualified to offer legal advice on all family law and advanced family law matters. During often highly emotional and distressing times, our legal experts can offer you sympathetic support while providing reliable and rational guidance on how to proceed through your case.
Rely on our family solicitors to assist you on disputes covering:
Children Law
Any separation, marriage or civil partnership breakdown becomes increasingly difficult when children are involved. Child law matters are emotionally challenging for all parties involved. That is why our solicitors offer quality legal advice and support throughout your case. Whether your dispute involves custody battles with Child Arrangement Orders, Adoption Orders or Special Guardianship Orders, we can advise you every step of the way, offering full transparency of your position. All our solicitors know the importance of these cases and will use our extensive legal knowledge to achieve the best outcome for your family and your children.
Child Care Proceedings
If there are concerns regarding your child’s care and wellbeing, the local authority’s social services department can raise child care proceedings to investigate and work with you to improve this situation. When these concerns are raised during divorce settlements, separations or cases of domestic abuse, having a family law solicitor is a priority. We can help you negotiate the child care process, representing you should these issues progress to court. Throughout your case, your and your child’s welfare will be our top priority.
Divorce
When a marriage comes to an end, there is a lot to consider when this decision is finalised in a divorce agreement. No matter how amicable this agreement, emotions are always running high. Having a supportive yet knowledgeable family law solicitor can help your decision stay rational and within your best interest. We can help you finalise your divorce regardless of your reason to separate.
Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreement
Whether you are about to be married or just married, our family solicitors in Leeds can offer legal support in negotiating prenuptial agreements and postnuptial agreements. A ‘prenup,’ prenuptial agreement, is drawn up and agreed upon before marriage, making a plan on how financial assets will be split if the marriage breaks down. However, postnuptial agreements decide the same after a couple has tied the knot.
Financial Agreements and Settlements
After a couple has separated or divorced, they are suddenly faced with several hurdles before they can completely disentangle their lives. Shared finances and matrimonial assets are often one of these hurdles. Once separated, it is quite natural to feel uncertain about your financial stability; however, with our family law solicitors, we can help you access what is rightfully yours. Our specialist solicitors can provide you with legal guidance, negotiating financial agreements and settlements on your behalf.
Civil Partnership Dissolution
For those who want to divorce from a civil partnership, our family solicitors have experience in submitting successful Dissolution Orders to a court of law. We can help you through this emotional time, advising you through the separation from your partner and representing you whenever required.
Domestic Abuse
In family law cases that contain allegations and evidence of domestic abuse, our first priority is ensuring your and your family’s safety. Our family solicitors in Leeds are confidential, discreet and always sympathetic with their advice, ensuring you are kept up-to-speed throughout your proceedings. Contacting a family law solicitor is a big step and, at Cartwright King, we will ensure you receive the support you need. Together we can help to produce a plan of action for your escape, including injections, non-molestation orders, divorce and child care arrangements.
