Important UK visa information for 2021
Following the end of free movement between the EU and the UK from 1 January 2021, all non-UK nationals, including EU nationals (excluding citizens of Ireland), require a visa for entry into the UK.
If you or your family members are citizens of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, and started living in the UK prior to 1 January 2021, you could be eligible for making an application for residence in the UK under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS).
If you successfully obtain residence under the EUSS, you will be exempt from requiring a UK visa. You have up until 30 June 2021 to apply for the scheme.
If you do not qualify for residence under the EU Settlement Scheme, you will need a visa to live, work or study in the UK.
If you represent a British business looking to hire EU and non-EU employees, you will need a Sponsorship Licence so that they can apply for Skilled Worker visas that will allow them to work for your business. The UK Skilled Worker visa route replaced the Tier 2 (General) Visa program on 1 December 2020.
