As a business, we regard sustainability as an on-going process and this is why we are committed to doing more for the environment. We aim to minimise our impact on the environment by:

  • Moving to electronic working and minimising paper files
  • Encouraging recycling
  • Minimising waste
  • Reducing energy consumption in all of our office
  • Encouraging home working and reducing staff travel  

Resource efficiency

As a firm, we have reduced our carbon foot print by:

  • Reduced the volume of printing by over 50% over the last 2 years
  • Reducing photocopying in the offices of the firm by 25% over the last 2 years
  • Moving to digital working wherever possible to reduce printing & paper usage
  • Reduced staff travel by over 20% in the last  3 years by encouraging ‘home working’
  • Moving to modern, energy efficient building whenever current leases expire
  • Re-cycle all used toners and obsolete computers
  • Central purchasing policy follows environmental responsibility
  • Using couriers operating electric vehicles and bicycles

Future Environmental Ambitions

The management of the firm are committed to reducing the environmental impact of this firm, and will continue to do so by:

  • Continue to reduce printing, paper and energy usage in the firm
  • Continue and expand the opportunities for recycling
  • Encourage ‘home working’ to reduce staff travel
  • Continue to minimise utility costs in all the Cartwright King estate
  • Continue the move to digital working and the use of IT to gain efficiency and reduce travel costs, such as by video conferencing
